In 1999 Scotland entered an exciting new era.  For the first time in 300 years it has its own Parliament.  The devolved Scottish Parliament was heralded as the advent of 'new democracy' in Scotland -  embodying new ways of working that would enable civil society to be actively involved in developing public policies and to be able to influence the decisions that affect them.

Seven years on, with two sessions of parliament behind us and recent elections, what do citizens in Scotland think?

We want to hear your experiences of devolution - the positives and the negatives.  We have all seen and heard the media spin - but what are the real stories - your stories?

We hope to be able to publish your stories as a collection in some shape or form in the future to provide a social record.  This depends on two things - first of all on having enough interesting material and, of course, in convincing someone it is worth publishing.  In the meantime your contributions will be published on this website.

We reserve the right not to publish material that is illegal, inflammatory, libellous or otherwise offensive.  Contributions submitted anonymously will not be accepted.
